Team Thanksgiving

Every year the girls team puts together a potluck Thanksgiving dinner before the NCAA Cross Country Race. I don't have the recipes, but I enjoyed taking pictures of the various dishes...

One of the girls cooked a 30 lb turkey..

Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes made with Greek Yogurt and Honey
 Stuffing...cooked inside the bird....
Spaghetti Squash (it was cold, and made with apples...) SO GOOD
 Cinnamon Rolls
 Pecan Pie

Spinach Balls- I have no idea what went in them, but these may have been my favorite!
And my creation...
Pumpkin Butterscotch Nutella swirl bread...
I used a recipe I found online and added my own twist....The first picture is the one from the website, the second is how mine turned out.

Chef Mimi's French Toast

Charlottesville's Hotcakes- on Barrack's Road. I've only been in once, but their pastries looked mouth-watering, and they also have their own signature gourmet dishes that looked like they would rival Whole Foods.

Chef Mimi sent me this picture of her Sunday Brunch from Hotcakes...Raspberry French Toast
For the record, French toast DID originate in France, unlike French Fries. It is called "Pain Perdu", or lost bread, because during medieval times, wasting food was not an option. Stale bread was moistened and heated, and eggs were added for protein.
